Behind the brand: Daniel Wellington
Posted on 05 April 2017
This Swedish watch brand was founded in 2011 by Filip Tysander. The idea for Daniel Wellington was ignited by a British gentleman with impeccable, yet unpretentious style. The man had a particular fondness for wearing his vintage watches with old, weathered NATO straps. The name of this inspiring man was Daniel Wellington.
The DW - as the brand name is often abbreviated - watches are known for their elegance and minimalist style. The watches come in polished steel and rose gold cases with five different sizes to choose from, and the straps are interchangeable in order to match the outfit and mood of the day. You can choose from two different styles of straps, genuine leather and NATO. The leather straps come in elegant shades of brown and black, and the nylon NATO straps have stripes of varying color combinations.
As for the watches themselves, Daniel Wellington has three styles with Japanese Miyota quartz movement to choose from: Classic, Dapper, and Classy. The simplistic Classic watches have either white or black dials, advocating minimalistic, unisex style. The Dapper watches have roman numerals and date display with deep blue hands, men especially are drawn to this collection. The Classy collection watches are smaller with Swarovski crystals marking the hours - perfect for a more feminine style!
Daniel Wellington’s timeless design appeals to various different tastes with watches that truly fit every occasion.
